Current Kids of Steele families and potential new families came together on March 9, 2014 for an afternoon of fun, learning and service. Despite the spring wind, people came out to make superhero capes for UA Steele Center patients facing a serious disease. Kids had a blast at the presentation by the Physics Factory and learned about what it’s like to be a kid with cancer from Larry, a Steele Center patient, who has courageously beaten leukemia. Parents got an inside view of the UA Steele Center and Diamond Children’s on a special behind-the-scenes tour. Everyone came back together to hear Dr. Ghishan, Director of UA Steele Children’s Research Center, speak passionately about how important and unique the UA Steele Center is to Tucson and all of Southern Arizona. Three families shared inspiring and personal stories about their children being treated at the UA Steele Center.
We are grateful for everyone who came out and joined us. For more information about membership and to download a printable form, click here. We hope that 2014 is the year your family joins us at Kids of Steele!
